This article will show you how to use the chat function in your zoom meeting. The below steps are if you are accessing your chat on Windows and Mac:
NOTE: Ensure you have set up your Zoom account and downloaded the application to your device. Here are the step-by-step guides.
Step 1: Login to Zoom Meetings
Step 2: Click Contacts to view your Project group and Class group.
Step 3: You will see your contacts list and will be able to start a chat or meeting when hovering over their name with your mouse.
QUICK TIP: You can use the search bar to quickly search for a specific person or group.
How to interact with your group members in zoom
Step 1: Click your allocated group. Your group chat window will display.
Step 2: You can start a zoom meeting with your group by clicking on the meet button at the top of the page. If you would like your video off when starting a meeting. Click more and select “Start a meeting without video”.
Step 3: In the below the screenshot, you can see three types of files you are able to upload for your group to view. It can be a screenshot, image or file. The screenshot function will take a quick shot of your screen, which is useful when you’re collaborating with your group and you wish to share some information with them. The Image function allows you to upload images from your desktop or a specific folder on your computer. The file function also allows you to upload files from your desktop or a specific folder on your computer.
Zoom chat function support for mobile device
In the zoom app on your mobile phone, your contacts will be displayed in list form. The meet & chat button will be displayed on the left-hand side of your screen.
Step 1: In your contacts list, click on the specific contact you would like to meet & chat with. It will open the chat window.
Step 2: If you would like to add an image or share a file, click the plus sign (+) in the right-hand corner of the screen. You will notice for Android this plus sign is displayed in the left-hand corner of the screen.
