Written assignments

Having trouble with your written assignments? Below are our frequently asked questions regarding assignments and responses.

 

How do I submit my written assignment?

Once you have completed your written assignment and saved the document in a place that you can easily reference, you are ready to submit your written assignment. Log on to the GetSmarter Online Campus and access the relevant module.

 

 

Step 1: Scroll down the page to the “Assignment” section. Click on the link to open the assignment submission page.

 

Step 2: Upload your completed assignment by clicking the  button and then drag your assignment document into the "File submissions" box. Alternatively, click in the box and choose the file using the file picker.

 

Step 3: Once your assignment document has been successfully uploaded, a document icon will appear in the box. Click on "SAVE CHANGES" to submit your assignment for marking.

 

How can I check if I have submitted my written assignment?

You can confirm that you have submitted your assignment by returning to the submission page in the module.

 

Once the page has loaded you will be able to view your latest submission, under the “Submission status” section at the bottom of the page.

If there is no “File submissions” row, please attempt to resubmit your assignment.


I submitted my assignment but when I go and check, there is no document. Please help!

If you have gone to check that you have correctly submitted your assignment and your submission is not visible, please attempt to resubmit your assignment.

If it is after the assignment deadline, please contact your Course Coach regarding your submission.

 

I am using a different software package/program, LibreOffice, or OpenOffice will this affect my assignment submissions, is it compatible?

It is only Microsoft Word that is compatible with our submissions, unless stated otherwise. Your Online Campus cannot upload assignments in LibreOffice or OpenOffice format, as our document templates are not compatible.

 

I cannot open the word document or edit it, when I try it shuts down my MS Word.

This will happen on very rare occasions and only affects certain Microsoft Word versions. If you cannot open the Word document please contact Technical Support.

Can I re-upload my assignment?

You may re-upload and edit written assignments as many times as you need to, before the assignment deadline.

Follow the same steps as you would when submitting your assignment, only instead of clicking on the button, there will be an  button to click.
