Before making any changes to your microphone and audio setup, it is advisable to first run through the Audio Setup Wizard. for more information on how to do so, please see the support article on How to troubleshoot microphone and audio issues. If you have already done so previously you may simply continue with the steps below.
Once you have entered the meeting room in your internet browser, enable your speaker audio by clicking on the icon as indicated in the image below (this usually is enabled by default). This icon is located in the top-left hand corner of your screen.
Enable your microphone (the icon to the right of the speaker volume icon). Once green, the microphone is active.
You may need to “Allow” access to your microphone for it to work.
If you are not speaking, ensure you mute your microphone to avoid any background noise entering through your microphone and interrupting the live tutorial session. Click on the microphone icon again to do this.
To check that you have the correct microphone selected, click the dropdown arrow and choose your preferred or best microphone from the list of options.
Adjust your microphone volume to be halfway between low and high.
Use the “raise hand” feature if you would like to signal to your Course Instructor or Tutor that you would like to speak into your microphone.
